“Simulation of movement and dancing in sculpture can be retraced to ancient Egyptian sculpture, elaborated in Greek and Indian sculpture, while the concept of continuous change in life and nature can be found in various Asian cultures. These non-western 3 features were major sources of inspiration for Renaissance and Baroque sculpture, which later also inspired sculptors in 19th century France, and elsewhere, up to today. Undercover Of The Night re-bridges western sculpture to its sources in India, China, Persia, and to East and West Asia in general.”
